The weather of late has been a little warmer than the -4 ÂșC ridiculousness of the last week, and though I've quite enjoyed the drier cold of this winter, I'm still left with a mild longing for the warmer weather and vibrant colours of the Spring. In the interim, summery cut-flowers in a warm room are the next best thing. That, or a large, steamy conservatory, but who can afford one of those these days? These cheerily coloured chaps are hybrid flower heads of Chrysanthemum, a genus of flowering perennial plants that are part of the daisy family (Asteraceae).

Absolutely delightful. A different feel than all the other late autumn shots everyone is doing. Wonderful shot!

Ah yes, so good to look at these flowers! And not only the flowers - but also the composition is very nice!!

Such lovely warming colours - great to see this time of the year. Like you, I love all this dry cold weather but I really didn't enjoy all the rain we just had. I can't stand being cooped up indoors all day.

Just beautiful, Alistair. Terrific orange color, and the texture and softness of the petals is wonderful!
